Hemkund Sahib Yatra by Helicopter

Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib is visited by thousands of pilgrims every year and is considered one of the most sacred yatras by Sikh pilgrims. If turning this once-in-a-lifetime dream into reality has not been possible, you can now choose helicopter services and seek the blessings of the Divine. Located at an elevation of around 13,500 ft above sea level, Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara in the world.

The Hemkund Sahib Yatra by Helicopter is available from Govind Ghat to Ghangaria (also known as Govind Dham). It takes around eight minutes to cover the 14 km distance. The helicopter seats five passengers and services run from 6 AM to 2 PM. Yatra by helicopter saves time and removes much of the difficulty — book your tickets in advance for your chosen date to avoid any hassle.

Suggested Itinerary

Govind Ghat → Ghangaria → Hemkund Sahib — subject to weather conditions.

  1. Day 01

    Arrival at Govind Ghat

    Arrival at Govind Ghat and check-in. Briefing for the helicopter shuttle to Ghangaria (Govind Dham). Overnight stay at Govind Ghat / Joshimath.

  2. Day 02

    Govind Ghat → Ghangaria (by helicopter)

    Report at Govind Ghat Helipad in the morning. Fly to Ghangaria — the ~14 km sector takes around 8 minutes. Trek / pony to Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib for darshan. Overnight at Ghangaria.

  3. Day 03

    Hemkund Sahib Darshan

    Early morning darshan at Hemkund Sahib (and optional Valley of Flowers visit, season permitting). Return to Ghangaria for overnight stay.

  4. Day 04

    Ghangaria → Govind Ghat (by helicopter)

    Return helicopter sector from Ghangaria to Govind Ghat. Final departure / onward journey.

Note: Helicopter services operate from 6 AM to 2 PM and seat five passengers per sector. Reporting timings and point-to-point flying are confirmed by our team and may change last moment as per availability or weather conditions.

We, as a Hemkund Sahib helicopter services provider, shall be under no liability whatsoever in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly out of the decline of authorization for any transaction, on account of the cardholder having exceeded the preset limit mutually agreed with our acquiring bank.

Flight & Baggage

  1. Maximum 05 passengers per helicopter sector.
  2. Total passenger weight as advised by the operator.
  3. Maximum baggage allowance 5 Kgs / person.
  4. Only one small pack (max 2 Kgs) allowed in flight.
  5. Excess-volume baggage not allowed on helicopter.
  6. Price subject to change without prior notice — please confirm in advance.

Reservations & Payments

A deposit of 100% of tour cost is required to secure your reservation, prior to commencement of the tour or as agreed at confirmation. Prices exclude laundry, telephone/internet, beverages, travel insurance, flight tickets, visa fees, tips, monument tickets, camera fees and any unspecified expenses.

Cancellation Fees

  • Before 30+ days — 10% of total tour cost
  • Before 29–22 days — 25% of total tour cost
  • Before 21–16 days — 60% of total tour cost
  • Before 15–0 days — 100% of total tour cost
