The Service

Wedding Helicopter Charter Service

Let us take care of the details for you. We work closely with your wedding planner and photographer to create an amazing adventure that complements your special day, from a dramatic arrival to a romantic getaway transfer for the newly married couple.

The helicopter needs somewhere to land near the venue: a helipad, or an open, level area clear of wires, trees and buildings, which the operator surveys before confirming. Landing at a private site also needs the venue owner's consent and permission from the district administration, and near an airport, air traffic clearance. Allow two to four weeks for these, more in the wedding season.

Helicopters used for weddings are usually single-engine aircraft seating five or six, so a grand entrance is typically the couple or a small bridal party, with the flight timed to the muhurat. Helicopters fly in daylight and in fair weather only; the pilot decides on the day, so plan a fallback for the entry.

Pair the entry with a flower shower over the mandap or the baraat, and tell us both in one enquiry.

Ways a helicopter is used at a wedding

Most families plan the flight around one or two moments rather than the whole day. The usual ones are:

  • Bride or groom entry. The doli or the baraat arrives by air and lands near the venue, with the guests watching from a safe distance. With five or six seats, this is the couple, or the bride or groom with a few family members.
  • The couple's departure. Instead of arriving, the newly married couple fly out after the vidaai, to a hotel, a nearby airport or the next leg of the trip.
  • Guest transfers between venues. When the functions are spread across a city and a hill resort, or two towns, close family can be flown between them in a few short sorties.
  • Flower showering. Petals over the mandap, the varmala or the baraat, flown as its own sortie. See flower showering by helicopter for how that is planned.
  • A short flight for the couple. A scenic circuit before or after the ceremony, often with the photographer on the ground.

You can combine these, for example an entry and a flower shower, in one enquiry.

What the venue needs

The aircraft is the easy part; the landing site is what decides whether a wedding flight can happen. The operator needs a helipad, or an open, level area with clear approach and departure paths, free of wires, trees, poles and buildings. A farm field at the edge of a venue is often workable; a lawn hemmed in by marquees and buildings usually is not.

  • The guests, the stage, tents and loose decoration have to be kept well back from the landing area, because the rotor downwash is strong.
  • The venue owner has to agree to the landing in writing.
  • Permission from the district administration, and air traffic clearance near an airport, are arranged together with the operator.
  • The operator surveys the site before confirming. A photograph helps you start the conversation, but it does not replace the survey.

Our guide on booking a helicopter for a wedding covers the landing site, permissions and timing in more detail.

How far ahead to book, and what to send

Start as soon as the venue is fixed. Permissions alone take two to four weeks, longer in the wedding season, when aircraft are also in demand. A booking made a few days before the wedding is rarely possible.

An enquiry that can be quoted quickly includes:

  • The venue address, with a map pin if you have one.
  • The nearest helipad or open ground you think could be used.
  • The date and a time window for each flight, not a single minute. Helicopters fly in daylight only, so evening muhurats need a daytime plan.
  • How many people fly on each sortie.
  • The moments you want: entry, departure, guest transfers, flower showering.
  • Your planner's and photographer's contact details, so timings can be agreed with them.

What decides the price of a wedding helicopter

There is no fixed rate for a wedding flight, because no two venues are the same distance from where the aircraft is based. The written quote is built from:

  • Flying hours, including positioning: the flight from the operator's base to your venue and back, not only the minutes over the wedding.
  • Waiting time while the aircraft stands by between the entry and a later sortie.
  • The number of sorties, for example one entry, or an entry, a flower shower and a departure.
  • A night halt, if the aircraft and crew have to stay near the venue for an early flight or a second day.
  • Permissions and landing arrangements at the site.

The same factors apply to any private helicopter charter. For weddings in the hills, our page on helicopter service in Uttarakhand explains what flies there.

What to check before you pay

  • The operator's name. Ask which permit-holding operator will fly and which aircraft is planned.
  • A written, all-inclusive quote. It should cover positioning, waiting, every sortie, any night halt, taxes and permission charges, so nothing is added on the day.
  • A weather plan. Low cloud, poor visibility or strong wind will stop a flight, and the pilot decides on the day. Agree a ground alternative for the entry, such as a decorated car or a doli on foot.
  • Cancellation and refund terms. Booked through us, a 5% administrative fee applies to any cancellation. Up to 30 days before the date 30% of the booking amount is charged, up to 20 days before 50%, and within 14 days or for a no-show there is no refund; a credit note is issued. Rescheduling up to 15 days before the date costs 20% of the booking (terms).
  • Decoration. Flowers or ribbons on the aircraft are allowed only as the operator permits; safety comes first.

Send your venue and date through the enquiry form below, or call +91-9634801801, and we will start by checking whether the site can take a helicopter at all.

Questions

Helicopter for Wedding in India, FAQs

Can I hire a helicopter for my wedding in India?
Yes. A wedding helicopter charter can be arranged across India for a grand entrance by the bride, groom or the entire bridal party. Please note that a booking enquiry is not a confirmed booking; every request is subject to feasibility at the venue, the necessary permissions and acceptance by the operator.
What wedding helicopter services can be arranged?
The wedding helicopter charter service covers arrivals and departures, with drop-off and pick-up for the couple or the bridal party, scenic flights before or after the ceremony for aerial photos, and a romantic private getaway transfer for the newly married couple. Mention which of these you need in the Requirement field of the enquiry.
Do you coordinate the wedding helicopter with our planner and photographer?
Yes. For a helicopter wedding, the team works closely with your wedding planner and photographer so the flight complements your special day, from a dramatic arrival to the couple's getaway transfer. Sharing your venue, wedding date and planned moments early helps align the helicopter timing with the rest of the wedding programme.
How much does a helicopter for a wedding cost in India?
It depends on the aircraft, how far it has to fly to reach the venue and the flying time. Pricing is shared on request after you submit your venue, wedding date and requirement through the enquiry form, or you can call +91-9634801801 to discuss it. Service charges are nominal and are given to you in writing before confirmation.
Can the bride or groom make their entry by helicopter?
Yes. The doli or the baraat can arrive by helicopter and land near the venue, with guests kept well back from the landing area. Wedding helicopters usually seat five or six, so the entry is the couple, or the bride or groom with a few family members. Helicopters fly in daylight and fair weather only, and the pilot decides on the day, so plan a ground alternative for the entry.
What does the venue need for a helicopter to land?
A helipad, or an open, level area with clear approach and departure paths, free of wires, trees and buildings, which the operator surveys before confirming. Landing at a private site also needs the venue owner's consent and permission from the district administration, and near an airport, air traffic clearance; these are arranged with the operator.
How far ahead should we book a wedding helicopter?
As soon as the venue is fixed. Permissions take two to four weeks, longer in the wedding season, when aircraft are also in demand. Send the venue, the nearest usable helipad or open ground, the date and a time window, the number of people on each flight and the moments you want.
What should we check before paying for a wedding helicopter?
Ask for the operator's name, a written all-inclusive quote covering positioning, waiting time, every sortie, any night halt and permissions, a weather plan with a ground alternative, and the cancellation and refund terms if weather or a permission stops the flight.
