FAQs
Questions that come up before people pay
Where an answer depends on the operator or the product, it says so — because it does, and finding that out after paying is worse than reading it here.
Booking a seat
A hold takes the seats out of live inventory against a countdown, so nobody else can buy them while you complete the booking. It is not a confirmed ticket. If the balance or confirmation is not completed before the countdown ends, the hold expires and the seats return to stock automatically.
When the platform issues the confirmation after the required payment, and, where the operator has configured it, after their approval. Displayed availability can change until a hold or booking is successfully created.
Yes, where the product allows it. A token or partial payment holds the booking but does not move the balance deadline. If the balance is not paid by that deadline the booking may be released or cancelled under the displayed terms.
Correct names, contact details, identification, and any operationally required information — passenger weight among it, because helicopter seating and weight distribution are governed by the operating company's rules. Incorrect, incomplete or late information can affect boarding.
Money
Through the supported payment gateway, from a wallet balance, as a token or partial payment, or on approved credit if your account has it. A transaction counts as successful only once the platform has verified the payment.
There is no single figure. Each supplier and product sets its own cancellation slabs, and the exact policy that applies to your booking is shown before you pay and stored with the booking. It is on your booking page afterwards, at the version you accepted.
It depends on approval, the original payment method and the banking or gateway processing time, on top of the applicable cancellation terms. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method unless another method is legally and commercially permitted.
Refundability of convenience, payment and platform fees is configured per product and disclosed before payment. Check the terms shown at checkout for that booking.
Flying
A participating aviation operator. BookHelicopter.com provides the technology, discovery, booking, enquiry and payment layer; unless a product says otherwise, it is not the aircraft operator. The confirmation names the operating provider.
Helicopter operations depend on weather, visibility, aircraft serviceability, air traffic and authority permissions, helipad conditions and the operator's safety assessment. Where a flight is disrupted, that operator's disruption, refund and rescheduling rules apply.
Yes. Departure and reporting times, routes, aircraft and operating arrangements can change for operational reasons. Follow the latest confirmed instructions, and watch the operational updates for advisories on your route.
Charter & special missions
No. A charter or special-service enquiry starts a feasibility and quotation process. A booking exists only after the quotation is accepted, the required payment and documentation are in, and the operator and platform confirm it.
It is routed as a priority enquiry to providers able to fly it, and remains subject to aircraft availability, medical configuration, weather, permissions and final medical and aviation acceptance. For a life-threatening emergency, contact local emergency services first.
The mission decides the fields: deployment locations, dates, reporting base, days and expected flying hours for election duty; project location, survey area, payload and duration for an aerial survey. Each service has its own form rather than one generic contact box.
Trade accounts
Register a business account, which an admin reviews before it can trade. Once approved, contracted fares, seat holds, a wallet and — where granted — pay-later appear against the operators you are cleared for.
Operator accounts are opened by the desk after onboarding and KYC rather than self-served. Once approved, the operator publishes its own fleet, routes, departures, seats, per-date pricing and cancellation rules from its own console.
Still unanswered? Contact the desk, read how it works, or check the terms and policies.
