How a booking with us runs

  1. Send your dates, the number of passengers and each passenger's weight through the enquiry form or on +91-9634801801.
  2. We check availability with permit-holding operators and send a written quote, inclusive of taxes and the State Government royalty, before anything is paid. Our service charges are shown to you in writing.
  3. Register every pilgrim for the yatra with the Uttarakhand government. It is free, and the helicopter booking does not do it for you.
  4. Book the Kedarnath helicopter ticket yourself on IRCTC, in each pilgrim's own name; its fare is paid to IRCTC.
  5. Pay the deposit: 50% of the tour cost, for the private packages and the fixed departure alike, with the balance 30 days before departure.

Before you book

  • Weights are checked at boarding. Above 75 kg, excess weight is charged per kilogram (INR 2,500 on the Chardham package, INR 2,000 on Do Dham).
  • Keep a spare day in Dehradun. Flying depends on weather and air-traffic permissions, and July and August bring many no-fly days.
  • May and June, then September and October, are the best months for clear flying.
  • Kedarnath is at about 3,580 metres. Older pilgrims should carry a doctor's fitness certificate for high altitude.
  • Read the helicopter yatra booking terms for rescheduling and cancellation.

Questions

Chardham Yatra by Helicopter, FAQs

How much does the Chardham Yatra by helicopter cost?
Per person, inclusive of taxes and State Govt. royalty: the Chardham Yatra by helicopter 5N/6D from INR 2,25,000 (Option 01 hotels; INR 2,35,000 with Option 02), on a minimum of 06 passengers, plus a fuel surcharge of INR 3,000 per person; the Do Dham yatra by helicopter 3N/4D from INR 1,42,000; and the Do Dham same day INR 1,37,000, on a minimum of 02. The group fixed departure (06-08 passengers on a set date) is priced on request. These are the 2026 rates; the written quote confirms the final price for your date.
Where does the Chardham helicopter yatra start from?
Helicopter booking for the Chardham Yatra is available from Dehradun and Haridwar. Flights leave from Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun, and the six-day programmes end back there. On the fixed departure, Day 01 is arrival at Dehradun airport with a night in a hotel in Dehradun or Haridwar.
In what order are the four dhams covered, and where does the helicopter land?
The route is Dehradun, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath and back to Dehradun. On the fixed departure the helicopter lands at Kharsali for Yamunotri, Harsil for Gangotri, Phata for Kedarnath and Badrinath Helipad, flying one sector a day and returning to Sehastradhara Helipad on Day 06.
Is there any walking on a Chardham helicopter yatra?
Yamunotri involves a 5 km trek from Kharsali Helipad, with a pony or palki available. Gangotri is reached by road from Harsil, and Badrinath has car service from the helipad. Kedarnath is reached on the helicopter from the base helipad.
Is the Kedarnath helicopter ticket included in the Chardham package?
No. We do not sell helicopter tickets. Please do not contact us for tickets. Each pilgrim books the helicopter ticket on IRCTC in their own name, and its fare is paid to IRCTC.
What happens if bad weather stops the Chardham helicopter?
Every itinerary is coordinated around weather, helipad movement and safety rules, and flying on a scheduled date cannot be guaranteed. On the fixed departure, only 01 additional night of waiting is allowed; stay and food for that night are borne by passengers, and the cost of crew and craft by the company.
Which Chardham Yatra by helicopter option should I choose?
For all four Dhams with hotels, meals and Pandit-guided darshan arranged, take the private 5N/6D Chardham helicopter package (minimum 06 passengers). For a place on a group package, the Chardham fixed departure is the cheaper way in. If Yamunotri's climb is too much, the Do Dham Yatra by helicopter covers Kedarnath and Badrinath in 03N/04D, or in one day on the same-day trip.
How do your helicopter booking services for the Chardham Yatra work?
You send your dates, passengers and each passenger's weight. We check availability with permit-holding helicopter operators and send a written quote, inclusive of taxes and the State Government royalty, before anything is paid. The deposit is 50% of the tour cost, for the private packages and the fixed departure alike, with the balance 30 days before departure.
Can one person book a Chardham helicopter trip?
On the fixed departure, yes: you join the group package, with 06-08 passengers per departure. The private 5N/6D package runs with a minimum of 06 passengers, the same-day Do Dham with a minimum of 2, and the 03N/04D Do Dham is not offered for a single person.
When is the best time for the Chardham Yatra by helicopter?
May and June, then September and October, when the air is clear. July and August bring monsoon rain and many no-fly days. In any month, keep a spare day in Dehradun for the weather.
Can I book the Chardham helicopter yatra on IRCTC?
No. The Chardham helicopter packages and the fixed departure are run by permit-holding helicopter operators and booked through us; each pilgrim books the Kedarnath helicopter themselves. We do not sell helicopter tickets. Please do not contact us for tickets.
Do I need Chardham yatra registration for the helicopter yatra?
Yes. Every pilgrim must register with the Uttarakhand government, by helicopter or by road, and the helicopter booking does not register you. Registration is free on the official portal, and the IRCTC Kedarnath helicopter asks for each passenger's yatra registration number, so register first.
How do I reach the Chardham helicopter from Delhi, Mumbai or Hyderabad?
Travel to Dehradun first, by air to Jolly Grant airport or by road or rail. The helicopter yatra itself starts at Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun, and on the fixed departure Day 01 is arrival at Dehradun airport with a night in Dehradun or Haridwar.
What are the weight and baggage limits on the Chardham helicopter?
On the private 5N/6D package, baggage is 3 kg per passenger and weight above 75 kg is charged at INR 2,500 per kilogram. On the fixed departure, baggage is 5 kg per person with one small bag of up to 2 kg in flight, and the passengers in one helicopter may weigh no more than 320 kg in total. Give accurate weights when you enquire.
