Helicopter services we arrange in Manali
- Heli skiing. The helicopter replaces the ski lift, setting a small group high on the mountain above the Solang and Rohtang region to ski untracked runs down to a pickup point. It runs usually from January to March, when there is enough snow and the weather allows flying, and suits skiers already comfortable off-piste.
- Private helicopter charter to and from Manali for a family, a group or a business trip, landing at a site cleared for the flight.
- Helicopter for weddings and flower showering at hill resorts, subject to landing and flying permissions.
- Helicopter joy rides and scenic flights over the Kullu valley and the snow peaks, where an operator is cleared to fly them.
- Helicopter for film shooting and air ambulance transfers from the hills to hospitals in the plains.
Charters are quoted on enquiry, subject to operator availability and the permissions the flight needs. Prices are on request, and you get a written quote before anything is paid.
Getting to Manali
The nearest airport is Bhuntar, the Kullu–Manali airport, about 50 km down the valley. A charter can also fly a group in from Chandigarh, Delhi or Dehradun, landing at a site cleared for the flight. How booking a helicopter works
- Send the date, the number of passengers and what you want to do: heli skiing, a charter, a wedding or a joy ride.
- We check availability with the operator cleared for that kind of flight and send you a written quote.
- You pay only after accepting the quote, never into a personal account.
When do helicopters fly in Manali?
In daylight and fair weather only, and the pilot has the final say on the day. Mountain weather can hold flights for hours or to the next day, so keep a spare day in the plan, above all for heli skiing. The operator flying your trip is named on your quote; see helicopter operators in India.
