Overview

About this overland yatra

Duration: 13 Days
Route: Kathmandu - Mt. Kailash / Mansarovar Lake - Kathmandu

This divine Kailash Mansarovar tour journey commences from Kathmandu after spending initial two days there. Before setting off for this sacred trip; we reckon, it makes sense to have kind blessings from shri Pashupatinath and Sleeping Bishnu (Shesh Narayan); as well as plead for a successful yatra. So, the second day, we spend our entire time visiting Shri Pashupatinath temple, Mata Guheswari temple, and Sleeping Bishnu temple (also called Budhanilkantha Narayan or Jal Narayan or Shesh Narayan).

During the morning hour, group members who are interested to go for the Everest flight can proceed to the airport. The flight operates every morning from Kathmandu and total duration of flight is approximately 45 minutes to an hour. After taking off from Kathmandu, if we found the weather cloudy, hazy, and rainy; as a result mountains are not visible; in such case we will get full refund from the airlines. This is an optional activity.

On the second day, after half-day sightseeing in Kathmandu, we drive to Kodari on the Nepal–China border. The following day, after visa formalities, we cross the border and drive to Nyalam.
