Helicopter Joy Rides in India
A joy ride is a short scenic flight that takes off and lands at the same helipad: typically 10 to 30 minutes over the hills, rivers and valleys of Uttarakhand, long enough to see the landscape from above and take photographs. It suits a birthday, an anniversary, a proposal, or a family who simply want to see the mountains from the air.
Most joy rides use a single-engine helicopter seating five or six, so a small group can fly together. Flights run in daylight and fair weather only, and the pilot has the final say on the day; if the weather closes in, the flight is moved rather than flown. Each passenger's weight is asked for in advance, because it decides how many can fly at once.
