Haridwar 2027
Ardh Kumbh, 14 January to 20 April 2027, on the Ganga.
The ghats, the river and the tent city of the Kumbh from the air: a short aerial darshan flown where the Mela administration allows it.
At the Kumbh the crowds are on the ground, and the scale of the Mela only shows from above: the river lined with ghats, the bathing crowds on a snan day and the tent city stretching along the banks. A Kumbh joy ride is a short helicopter flight over the Mela, often called aerial darshan, that takes off and lands at the same helipad.
These rides are not flown everywhere or every day. Each Mela administration decides whether, where and when helicopters may fly, and the rides are run by operators it allows. At the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh in 2025, short rides over the Sangam were flown this way, and the same is expected at the coming Kumbhs.
Send us the Kumbh you are going to, your dates and group size. We tell you what is flying, from where and at what price as soon as the operator and the administration announce it, and arrange it in writing before you pay.

Ardh Kumbh, 14 January to 20 April 2027, on the Ganga.
Simhastha Kumbh on the Godavari, Nashik and Trimbakeshwar.
Simhastha on the Kshipra, expected March to May 2028.
The Haridwar Ardh Kumbh runs from 14 January to 20 April 2027, with Amrit Snans on 6 March, 8 March and 14 April. From the air you see Har Ki Pauri and the ghats along the Ganga, the Mela zone and tent city across the river, and the Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi hills above the town, with Rishikesh and the foothills upstream.
Movement around the ghats is tightly controlled on the Amrit Snan days, so rides, if allowed, are easiest on the days in between. Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is about 35 km away, and many visitors stay in Rishikesh; see Rishikesh helicopter joy ride. For dates, charters and camps, see Haridwar Kumbh 2027 by helicopter.
The Nashik Simhastha is held on the Godavari at Nashik and at Trimbakeshwar, below the Brahmagiri hills where the river rises. A ride, where it is allowed, takes in Ramkund and the ghats of Panchavati, the river through the city and the Mela grounds. See Nashik Kumbh 2027 by helicopter for the dates and Amrit Snans.
The Ujjain Simhastha on the Kshipra is expected from late March to May 2028; the Mela authority has not yet announced the bathing dates. From the air you see the Kshipra ghats around Ram Ghat and the Mahakal temple area. See Ujjain Simhastha 2028 by helicopter; we will add ride details when they are announced.
Rides fly from a helipad set up or cleared for the Mela, not from the ghats. Reach it before your slot, carry a photo ID for every passenger, and expect each passenger to be weighed at check-in, since the load decides the seating. After a short safety briefing the flight takes a few minutes over the Mela and lands back at the same helipad.
Roads around a Kumbh are diverted and parking zones are far from the ghats, so allow far more time than usual to reach the helipad, and avoid the Amrit Snan days if you can.
The price of a Kumbh joy ride is set by the operator for that Mela and announced with the permission, so it is shared on request. Send your Kumbh, dates and group size, or call +91-9634801801, and you get the price, the helipad and the slot in writing before you pay.
For a group that wants its own helicopter, a private charter to the Mela is quoted separately, and it needs the administration's permission too. Ask the operator's name, what happens if weather or a permission stops the flight, and the refund terms before you pay.
Outside the Mela, scenic flights are arranged across Uttarakhand all year: see helicopter joy rides in Uttarakhand, the Mussoorie air safari and the Rishikesh joy ride. For all three Kumbhs together, see Kumbh Mela 2027–28 by helicopter.
